Deasy To Host Free E-Waste Recycling Event

Residents can have health records, financial documents, electronics and more safely disposed of through this event.

As part of his continued efforts to promote awareness on the dangers of identity theft, state Rep. Dan Deasy, D-Allegheny, will host a free community shredding and e-waste recycling event.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Crafton Park located at 167 W. Steuben St., Crafton.

“This is a great opportunity to protect your personal information and defend yourself against identity thieves,” Deasy said.

Residents are invited to bring old health records, financial documents, compact disks, computers, monitors, microwaves, printers and televisions for secure disposal. A full list of items accepted is available by calling Deasy’s constituent services office at 412-928-9514.

“We’re also offering opportunities to make donations to community organizations. Cell phones and chargers will be accepted for the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. Nonperishable food items will also be accepted and donated to our local food bank,” Deasy said.
