Sean, I can't say why some media outlets' old links are now dead, but the 2007 Trib article that I was referring to is indeed no longer active.

Sean,
In 1997, Schmotzer was accused of taking $50,000 from taxpayers (and paying the money back—with interest) while serving as a deputy clerk of courts for Allegheny County, according to a 2007 article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Schmotzer pleaded guilty, but later, he withdrew his guilty plea. And after initially being convicted of theft, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania dismissed his charges on appeal and cleared his record.

ReplyHere's how it works, folks: The school board candidates in the top four in either the Republican or Democratic categories will appear on November's ballot.
Technically, Rambo and Crowder could both be elected, and one of the other three candidates could be left out.
Brown, Solenday and Schmotzer will all have both a D and an R next to their names, while Crowder and Rambo get just an R and a D, respectively.
Make sense?
