They're set off from the top of the hill in the center of Dormont Park. (After much debate over the safest place.) They can be seen from most places in Dormont -- many people can even watch them from their own porches!
Still, the best view is from the Dormont Pool parking lot -- bring chairs or a blanket! :) -

Me too -- I look at some of my childhood photos and wonder what the heck I was thinking!! (Oy. The '80s.) But I'm so glad my folks let me be exactly who I wanted to be, despite the fact that it MUST HAVE embarrassed & exasperated them sometimes :)

Reply"We love our son just the way he is," Carrie Robbins-O'Connell told the crowd, "but autism awareness is very important. Hopefully this event and the walk tomorrow will encourage people to understand autism and accept autism as a part of someone's life."
Exactly. As one parent of an autistic child to two others, thank you for saying that. Our kids aren't broken; society is. And mad ups for doing your part to help change things!!!

ReplyHi, Shannon :)
Random tangent: I was SO almost named Shannon, but the QB (a.k.a Mom) called an audible at the last minute...
I really enjoyed your post & can relate to your TV jonze -- I once spent an entire summer watching "Arnold & Willie" (the French version of Diff'rent Strokes). It didn't translate well. Shocking, huh?
So here's a little sum-up of what happened on good old American TV...
How I Met Your Mother: Barney's in love; Lily's pregnant; Marshall is going back to work as an environmental lawyer; Ted demolishes the Arcadian along with his relationship with Zoe; Robin gets a real journalism job.
Dancing With the Stars: Hines kicks everybody's butts!!!!!
30 Rock: Tracey disappears after winning too much praise for his EGOT; Avery is kidnapped & forced to be a harem bride to some weird foreign dictator; Jack tries to save NBC from KableTown; TGS celebrates its 100th episode. To be continued...?
Glee: A bunch of kids sang & danced. Well. That's about all I know.
Glad you'll be back in Dormont soon! Keep the posts coming :) -

ReplyMy husband was at Kuhn's when this happened. That parking lot is a public safety menace. Something needs to be done about it immediately.

I interviewed Mr. Magri for a different story recently, and was also fortunate enough to meet a few of his students. They are a great group and Mr. Magri is a wonderful example to them. Thanks for the chairs, you guys! And thank you, Mr. Magri, for fostering a love of community service in the already-awesome KO kids!!!
