AGENDA: Dormont to Adopt 2013 Budget

Dormont Council plans to adopt the 2013 budget, as well as make several other votes at its meeting today, Monday, Dec. 3.

Much of the agenda for Dormont Council's meeting today, Monday, concerns the 2013 budget. Council will meet today, Monday Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at Dormont Municipal Center, and plans to adopt the borough's 2013 budget, with tax adjustments to account for recent property reassessments. For details, and to review budget documents, click here. Also on the agenda are votes to approve the laborer union contract, and to make changes to laws regarding event signage and front yard fences. Borough manager Jeff Naftal plans to provide updates on the West Liberty Avenue Redevelopment plan, union negotiations, and the Voelkel Avenue traffic calming plan. Dormont Moves Forward with Rec Director, Clerk Hiring

Hundreds of applications for the two vacant positions have been received.

The search for a new recreation director and a new front desk clerk for Dormont Borough is moving forward, and the positions could be filled by the end of the month. Borough manager Jeff Naftal said Monday that he is in the process of interviewing six people for the position of Recreation Director and nine people for the position of borough clerk/receptionist. He said he expects the interview process to be done by next Wednesday, Aug. 15. "I intend to make my selection as quick as I can, to get somebody on board," Naftal said. Last week, Naftal said he received about 80 resumes for the Recreation Director position, and more than 200 for the position of clerk/receptionist.
