Police: Illegally Parked Cars Towed During Rush Hour

Dormont police are ticketing—and quickly towing—cars parking on West Liberty Avenue during rush hour.

Dormont police are issuing another warning to residents—parking on West Liberty Avenue during rush hour could get your car towed. Sgt. James Burke said the police want residents to be aware that if a car is parked illegally during rush hour, it won’t sit on the street long before it is removed. “It does create a traffic hazard, and not only are we citing them, but we’re towing them pretty much immediately,” he said. Burke said that when cars parked illegally on West Liberty Avenue during rush hour, they will be ticketed as soon as an officer gets to the scene. I drove through around 8:30-9 a.m. last Friday, and it was pretty much smooth sailing, which surprised me. When I worked in the city a few years ago, I used to hate that stretch in the morning, but it seems to have gotten better.
