I consider myself pretty lucky to be both living and working in the Dormont-Brookline area—it means I don't spend much time fighting traffic. But when I worked in Penn Hills, the Liberty Tunnel and all its traffic were just about a daily occurrence for me. If I had a late school board meeting to cover, I could pretty much count on running into a delay because of maintenance work. PennDOT crews will be doing maintenance work in the northbound Liberty Tunnel tonight, Tuesday, starting at 8 p.m. Inbound single lane traffic will occur and motorists are advised to use caution, allow extra time and expect changing traffic patterns in the tunnel.
