Dormont residents can have a few drinks for a cause this Saturday.
Local bars have partnered with Yuengling to start what they hope will become a new barcrawl tradition in Dormont, in the name of honoring our policemen and firefighters. The pub crawl will start on July 21 at 5 p.m. and includes these locations: Breakers, Jamison's, Mexi Casa, Cips, Slap Shots, The Apple, Albert's, and Cain’s Saloon. Yuengling donated 500 shirts for the “Bars and Stripes” pub tour that will cost $15 at any of the participating bars. All proceeds go to the police and fire departments. Anyone wearing a “Bars and Stripes” t-shirt will get $2 drafts of Yuengling and Yuengling Lite all night. In his role as vice president of the Brookline Chamber of Commerce (BCC), Cannon Coffee co-owner Nathan Mallory is hosting a bar crawl on Saturday, Oct. 15, starting at 7 p.m. and ending at last call. The crawl is called “Because You’re Mine. I Walk the Line.” It borrows its name from the famous Johnny Cash lyrics and functions as Mallory’s call for Brookline residents and friends to come out and take ownership in the area’s bars.
