Jitney Driver Accused of Robbing Passenger at Knifepoint

Pittsburgh Zone 6 Crime Update, May 6 to May 12.

Pittsburgh police are looking for a man accused of robbing another man at knifepoint after giving him a ride. A man told police a jitney driver robbed him at knifepoint on May 11 between 3 and 4 a.m., in the 200 block of Oakville Court in Banksville. The suspect stole clothing, shoes, sunglasses, keys, CDs, and money from the man. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" and weighing 160lbs, with a medium build, medium complexion and a black coat. The suspect was driving a gray Mazda 3 Sedan. Six Thefts Reported May 5 in Banksville

Pittsburgh police are warning residents to keep cars locked and remove valuables from sight after several thefts in the area.

Following several theft-from-vehicle reports in the Banksville and Beechview neighborhoods, Pittsburgh police are warning residents to lock their cars, and to remove or hide valuable items from sight when cars are left unattended. On May 2, a license place was reported stolen from a vehicle parked near Hampshire and Cape May avenues in Beechview. The following thefts occurred overnight between May 4 and May 5 in Banksville: Those with information can contact Pittsburgh Police Zone 6 detectives. Two Arrested in Saw Mill Run Drug Bust

Pittsburgh police recovered $46,789, a large amount of marijuana, and other drugs on May 2.

Pittsburgh police arrested two men, and recovered a large amount of cash and marijuana in a May 2 drug bust following an incident on Saw Mill Run Boulevard. Police responded to Saw Mill Run Boulevard near Woodruff Street just before 4:30 p.m. for a report of a man breaking the windows of a car parked near that intersection. Police found a man matching the suspect's description riding a bicycle near the BP Gas Station on Saw Mill Run Boulevard. Police chased the man—identified as Thomas Ozoskey, 35, of Pittsburgh—on foot, and recovered four bags of marijuana Ozoskey had thrown away during the pursuit. According to the police report, Ozoskey told police he broke into the vehicle because he knew marijuana was stashed inside. Police then …

Two Stolen Vehicle Reports in Brookline

Pittsburgh Zone 6 crime update, April 21 to April 28.

One vehicle was stolen, and an attempt was made to steal another in Brookline last week. A resident in the 1700 block of Pioneer Avenue told police his car was stolen—without the keys—between 4 p.m. on April 26 and 10 a.m. on April 27. In the 2400 block of Edgebrook Avenue, another residents told police someone had attempted to steal his motorcycle just before 4 p.m. on April 24. Pittsburgh police are investigating both incidents. Graffiti, Garage Door Damaged in Brookline

Pittsburgh Zone 6 crime update, April 15 to April 21.

Two cases of apparent vandalism were reported in Brookline on April 18. A man told police someone damaged a keypad on the garage of his home in the 700 block of Fordham Avenue between 7:30 p.m. on April 17 and 7 a.m. on April 18. Also on April 18, graffiti was spray painted on a building in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard just after 4 a.m. Police are investigating the incidents. Three Arrested for Drug, Prostitution-Related Charges

Pittsburgh Zone 6 police blotter, April 1 to April 7.

Three people were arrested April 2 in the 2800 block of Banksville Road in Banksville for drug and prostitution-related charges. Vice detectives arrested Aubrey Hammonds of Buffalo, New York for prostitution and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. The same evening, Kurtis Houston, also of Buffalo, New York, was arrested for prostitution-related offenses and possession of marijuana. Joshua Moore of Rochester, Pa. also was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. As of April 8, Hammonds and Houston are being held in Allegheny County Jail. BB Gun Used in Three Fallowfield Ave. Vandalism Acts

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, March 18 to March 24.

A BB gun was used in three different cases of criminal mischief, all in the 1800 block of Fallowfield Avenue in Beechview, between March 23 and March 24. The first instance occurred between 9 p.m. on March 23 and 9 a.m. on March 24, when a BB gun was used to shoot the window and the side of a vehicle parked on the street. Two more cases followed. The window of a home in the same block was shot with a BB gun on March 24 between 2 a.m. and 10:05 a.m, and damage to a second vehicle in that block—a broken window—was reported at 8:45 a.m. Those with information can contact Pittsburgh Police.
