Nearly three months after claiming the runner-up spot on “Ink Master,” Sarah Miller has not slowed down. “This is a whole new normal,” she said. “It’s nuts. Our shop’s been kicking, too. We’ve been getting walk-ins left and right.” Miller, a tattoo artist and owner of Wyld Chyld Tattoo on Brookline Boulevard, was a contestant in the second season of Spike TV’s reality show featuring tattoo competitions. The title of Ink Master ultimately went to artist Steve Tefft of Groton, Conn., who won $100,000 and a feature in Inked Magazine, but Miller said she’s just fine with second place. Second place is nothing to scoff at when you're competing nationally, and for that reason, Pittsburgh has another reason to be proud. Tattoo artist Sarah Miller, owner of Wyld Chyld Tattoo on Brookline Boulevard, took second place on Spike TV's tattoo competition reality series "Ink Master" on Tuesday evening. Miller was a contestant on the second season of "Ink Master." The series finale—a live, two-hour special—aired on Spike TV on Tuesday. The title of Ink Master went to artist Steve Tefft of Groton, Conn., who also wins $100,000 and a feature in Inked Magazine. The shop has extended the entry deadline for its Halloween art show, which will run through the end of November.
Wyld Chyld Tattoo will showcase a different kind of art this Halloween, with a spooky gallery showcasing work by artists from across the country. The Brookline Boulevard shop has extended its entry deadline, and is accepting art submissions for ”Art of the Unliving,” until 5 p.m. today, Oct. 24. With entries already creeping in, owner Sarah Miller told Dormont-Brookline Patch earlier this month that she’s looking forward to displaying the pieces in the gallery at the front of the Wyld Chyld shop. “It’s going to be a real mix,” Miller said. “We have sculpture, we have paintings, we have digital photography manipulations. It’s really just anything, as long as the subject matter pertains to Halloween. It’s that spooky time of year.” The show …

It's time to get inked. The Season 2 premier of Spike T.V.'s "Ink Master" is tomorrow, Tuesday, and this season features local artist Sarah Miller, who owns Wyld Chyld Tattoo on Brookline Boulevard. To celebrate the season, a premier party will be held at Brookline Pub. The show starts at 10 p.m. on Spike TV. Brookline is about to leave a permanent mark on the tattoo industry. When the new season of ‘Ink Master’ premiers on Spike TV in October, it will feature one of the Boulevard’s own: artist Sarah Miller of Wyld Chyld Tattoo. The shop manager is one of 16 ‘Ink Master’ contestants trying for a $100,000 grand prize. She said the show is an unmatched experience for artists. “It’s something like boot camp for tattooing,” Miller said. “Fun, but it’s definitely sink or swim.” The 27-year-old can handle the pressure. Miller is a jack-of-all-trades around the Brookline Boulevard shop, which opened in March. She is its owner, an illustrator/designer and tattoo artist.
