Purse, Credit Cards Stolen From Vehicle in Dormont

Dormont police are investigating the incident.

Dormont police are investigating a theft-from-vehicle incident that occurred last week in the 3000 block of Wainbell Avenue. According to the police report, a purse containing a driver's license, other identification, checks, two credit cards and various accessories was stolen from the car. The victim told police the theft likely happened between 2 p.m. on April 7 and 11 a.m. on April 8. It is unknown whether the car was locked at the time of the theft, but no signs of forced entry were found. Police are investigating the incident. Those with information can contact Dormont police. Dormont Police, VFD Respond to Water Leak at Dormont Village Shops

Dormont police blotter, Nov. 23 to Nov. 30.

No major damage was reported after a water leak sent local emergency crews to Dormont Village Shops on Nov. 26. Dormont police officers and the Dormont Volunteer Fire Department responded to the shopping center on West Liberty Avenue just after 7 a.m. Crews determined that the water was coming from a men’s bathroom on the second floor of the building. Water was leaking into more than one of the businesses on the first floor, said Dormont police Sgt. James Burke, although he did not know how many businesses were affected.
