Dormont Council approved a redevelopment plan proposed by #1 Cochran earlier this year, and the plan includes several things the automotive group will do for the borough.
Dormont Council has approved a plan proposed by the #1 Cochran Automotive Group for redevelopment on West Liberty Avenue. In a special meeting held Wednesday, Dec. 19, council approved a plan that has been discussed publically for the past 10 months. Council members John Maggio and Eugene Barilla did not attend the meeting. Borough manager Jeff Naftal said that for now, parking in the borough will not change. Residents and business patrons can continue to park where they always have parked. All of #1 Cochran's development plans must be approved by borough council before they are implemented in the borough. Dormont Council will hold a special, public meeting today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, to discuss the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Dormont Municipal Center. Dormont Council will hold a special public meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 19, to discuss at least two items, both related to the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan. Council plans to discuss the proposed agreement with #1 Cochran, which would include a potential land swap between the company and the borough, as well as the points #1 Cochran would have to meet in order for the borough to approve an agreement. the borough had all the leverage here and they squandered it. those guys and gals on council must like bending over the barrel. what a brainless move. someone track how much cochran has lined pockets of dormont organizations and then track how much they do going forward. i bet joan hodson's precious main street program got plenty of sponsorships from cochran. what the heck does main street do for… more ›
