Car Reported Stolen from Arkansas Ave.

Dormont police blotter, Dec. 7 to Dec. 14.

A car was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Arkansas Avenue after it was left running outside of a home, Dormont police said. According to the police report, the owner jump-started the car shortly after 9 p.m. because it would not start on its own. The owner then went inside the home, leaving the car running outside, and noticed the car missing around 9:25 p.m. The car is a 1999 gold-colored Ford Taurus. Police Investigating Violent Robberies in Beechview

One robbery occurred Friday, the other Saturday morning.

Pittsburgh police are investigating two violent robberies that occurred in Beechview on Friday and Saturday. The first was reported Friday, April 20, at 9:56 p.m. A man and woman told police they were walking near the park on Orangewood Avenue when several people inside a parked silver van or SUV began yelling at them. A man got out of the vehicle and robbed the male victim at gunpoint, then fled in the vehicle, according to the report. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'4" tall, between 19 and 21 years old. According to the report, the man is dark skinned and clean shaven, and was wearing a black baseball hat, black shirt, and jeans.
