This is a photo from my neighborhood. What do you see in yours?

In what hopefully will be the last winter storm of this season, between 4 and 6 inches of snow was dumped on the Pittsburgh area. A winter weather advisory went into effect for the Pittsburgh area Tuesday evening, and as of Wednesday morning, a winter storm warning still is in effect for Allegheny County, specifically the South Hills, WPXI reports. Keystone Oaks School District has a two-hour delay and modified kindergarten schedule, and Pittsburgh Public Schools cancelled today, Wednesday, March 6. What does your street look like this morning? Winter Storm Moving Into Western Pennsylvania

A winter storm that could bring several inches of snow is expected to hit the Pittsburgh area Tuesday night.

A winter storm that could bring several inches of snow is expected to hit the Pittsburgh area Tuesday night. The National Weather Service issued the advisory that runs from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 7 p.m. Wednesday. The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the Laurel Highlands of Fayette, Westmoreland and Somerset counties. However, the South Hills of Pittsburgh and other areas south and east of the city could get 4-to-6 inches. Neighborhoods west of Pittsburgh are expected to get 2-to-4 inches of accumulation. The weather is expected to arrive late Tuesday afternoon as a mix of rain and snow before intensifying overnight. The snow is expected to continue until Wednesday afternoon, according to the weather service. Continue to monitor Patch.…

More Snow Possible This Week in Dormont-Brookline

Didn't Phil say it was gonna be an early spring? Because the weather forecast for later this week definitely sounds like winter.

On Monday, it was in the 40s, with plenty of sunshine. Today? Things are gonna look a little different. Rain and snow showers are expected after 2 p.m., with about a half-inch of accumulation possible. After 3 a.m. Wednesday we could see another half-inch of precipitation. Then? "A frontal boundary will push into the area Thursday night into Friday, bringing a wintry mix to the area. Light accumulations of snow and ice area possible with this system," according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service. Expect Lots of Snow in Pittsburgh This Weekend

The National Weather Service is forecasting 2 to 4 inches in the Pittsburgh area this weekend and nearly a foot in high elevations.

Two Clipper-type systems will mean lots of snow in western Pennsylvania this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory for snow is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday. The weather service forecasts snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Those totals could go as high as 6 to 10 inches in the higher ridge elevations. The snow will begin mid-morning Saturday and end Sunday evening, with the heaviest snow coming Saturday afternoon into midday Sunday, NWS states on its website. A winter weather advisory for snow means snowfall will cause travel difficulties—be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility. KO, Pittsburgh Public Schools Cancel Evening Activities

Due to bad weather, local school districts have cancelled activities Friday evening.

Due to bad weather conditions, the Keystone Oaks School District and Pittsburgh Public Schools have cancelled evening activities for Friday, Jan. 25. Roads Worsen in Dormont, Brookline Area as Snow Falls

Roads are getting slick, and we're expected to see snowfall for the next several hours.

As snow continues to fall Friday morning, roads are getting worse and traffic is slowing down on West Liberty Avenue. Roads are mostly slushy, as of 11 a.m., but are slick in some spots. The snow is making is difficult to see center lines on the road. Dormont police Sgt. Jim Briglia advised drivers to be careful. "It's getting a little tricky out there," he said. "Our street department is out now." An accident on McFarland Road in Dormont was reported Friday morning around 10:30 a.m. No injuries were reported. Highway accidents have been reported as well. Canon-McMillan Patch reported a multi-vehicle accident on I-79 southbound near the Canonsburg exit just after 10 a.m., and Chartiers Valley Patch reported that traffic is moving slowly …

Small Snowstorm Headed for Pittsburgh

Meteorologists are tracking a small snowstorm coming into western Pennsylvania that will bring about an inch of snow to the South Hills by Wednesday morning.

Meteorologists are tracking a small snowstorm coming into western Pennsylvania that will bring about an inch of snow to the South Hills, including Dormont and Brookline, by Wednesday morning. Dennis Sims, a meteorologist at Air Science Consultants in Bridgeville, expects a “wet snow” to move into the South Hills of Pittsburgh around 10 p.m. Tuesday before it changes over to sleet overnight. “It will for some slippery travel later tonight,” Sims said. Temperatures are expected to hover around 30 degrees overnight before the sleet changes over to rain Wednesday morning.
