Police Offer Reward for Rite Aid Robbery Suspect

Pittsburgh Police are searching for a man who robbed the Banksville Road Rite Aid earlier this month.

A Rite Aid employee might have stopped a robbery, but Pittsburgh Police still are searching for the suspect—and they're offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Police responded to the Rite Aid on Banksville Road at 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 6 for a report of a robbery. A store employee told police a white male entered Rite Aid just after 1:30 a.m., but left quickly without buying anything. He then went outside and got into a large, silver sedan, possibly a Grand Marquis or Crown Victoria, being driven by a black male. When the employee went out and asked if they needed help, the black male reportedly said, "No we’re ok. You still open?" The employee said yes and went back into the store, according to police. Pgh Police Looking for Men Involved in Robbery

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, Jan. 28 to Feb. 3.

Pittsburgh police are looking for two men involved in a robbery reported in Beechview on Feb. 3. According to the police report, the victim told police a man came to his residence in the 1600 block of Methyl Street at 3:15 p.m. to sell him electronics. At one point, the man left the home, and then came back inside with a second man. One of the men allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded money from the victim. Police said there was a struggle over the gun, the victim was robbed of a wallet and cell phone. The two men fled in a red or maroon-colored vehicle. This early week I observed a new updated vehicle patching asphalt 1500 block of Broadway. Two men in vehicles. One worker ahead with flag and bucket. New pickup with two workers riding in four cab pickup and a worker walking behind the entourage. It was pretty impressive. Police Search for Suspect in Banksville Wireless Robbery

Pittsburgh police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a Beechview store on Nov. 30. According to the police report, a man walked into Banksville Wireless, located at 1601 Banksville Road in Beechview, with a gun just before 5:30 p.m. and demanded money. A store employee complied, and the man ran from the store. The man is described as a white male, age 30-35, 5’0” with a medium build who was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and gloves. Brookline Man Arrested for Giant Eagle Robbery

A man is charged for the same offense for the second time in just over a year.

A man with a history of stealing from the Giant Eagle in Whitehall Borough's Caste Village is charged with doing the same thing again after he led police from Whitehall and Castle Shannon boroughs, and Bethel Park, on a search for him through Whitehall on Saturday. Brenton Fawcett, 37, of 353 Brookline Blvd. in Brookline, was arrested that day and taken to the Allegheny County Jail on charges of robbery, receiving stolen property, retail theft and defiant trespass for stealing DVDs and other merchandise from Giant Eagle at around 1:03 p.m., Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Cars Stolen in Brookline, Beechview

Brookline police blotter, Aug. 6 to Aug. 12.

Three vehicles were stolen between Aug. 6 and Aug. 9 from locations in Brookline and Beechview. The first vehicle reported stolen was parked near Pauline Street and Crosby Avenue in Beechview when it was stolen without the keys, sometime between 6 a.m. on Aug. 6 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 8. Another was stolen without the keys on Aug. 8, sometime between 11:15 a.m. and about 11:50 p.m., from its parking spot in the 1000 block of Chelton Avenue. On Aug. 9 another vehicle was reported stolen—again, without the keys—from its parking space in the 2200 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview. Dormont Woman Robbed, Police Look for Suspects

Police are looking for two men who shoved a Dormont woman to the ground and robbed her on July 31.

Dormont police are looking for two men who robbed a woman on Illinois Avenue on July 31. A 58-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of Illinois and Belplain avenues at 10:25 p.m. when two men approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and stole her purse. The men ran from the scene. A witness chased the men, but lost sight of them near Tennessee Avenue. The purse was found by a resident in the 1300 block Tennessee Avenue on Aug. 1, but the men have not been arrested. Both suspects are described as black males in their late teens with slender builds. Daytime Burglary Reported on Potomac Avenue

A woman was in her Potomac Avenue home in Banksville in the middle of the day when someone robbed her.

A robbery on Potomac Avenue in Banksville happened in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon. A woman told Pittsburgh police she was in the living room of her home in the 2900 block of Potomac Avenue around noon, when a man entered the room from outside through an unlocked door. The man stole a statue containing money, according to the report. Both the woman and the suspect fled the home, and the woman contacted police. The suspect is described as a white man, 5'8", with a thin build and a clean-shaven face. He was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt, black pants, clear goggles and had a black mask covering his face. Man Robbed After Leaving T Station

Dormont police blotter, June 2 to June 8.

A Dormont man who had just gotten off the train and was walking near Park Boulevard on June 1 was reportedly assaulted and robbed. The man told Dormont police that he had just gotten off the T and was walking home around 11 p.m. He was nearing the 1400 block of  Park Boulevard when another man hit him from behind, told him to “shut up” and hand over all of his money, according to the report. The suspect took cash from the man’s wallet and ran away in the direction of the train station. No arrests have been made in the case. Arrests Made in Brookline, Beechview Crimes

Pittsburgh police made arrests in Brookline and Beechview this week.

Zone 6 Pittsburgh police officers made arrests this week in seperate incidents for robbery and criminal trespass in Brookline and Beechview. Police responded to Bellaire Avenue and Wedgemere Street in Brookline on June 2 at 12:41 p.m. for a report of a fight between two men. A man at the scene told police he had been assaulted and robbed on Fitch Way, according to the report. Police found and arrested Matthew Moran, 33, of Brookline. He was charged with robbery and taken to Allegheny County Jail. On June 4 at 2:15 a.m., police responded to the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue for a report of a burglary at an apartment building. Photos of Brookline Robber Released

Photos from a surveillance video of the suspect in recent Brookline and Beechview robberies has been released.

Pittsburgh Police on Monday released photos of a suspect in two recent local robberies. The photos are taken from a surveillance video inside the Sunoco gas station in the 1700 block of Banksville Road in Beechview, which was robbed at gunpoint the morning of May 15. The same person is suspected of robbing the BP gas station in the 1800 block of West Liberty Avenue on May 13. The suspect is described as a white man, between 20 and 30 years old, 5'6" and 120lbs. He was wearing a green and brown camouflage baseball hat, a gray hoodie and blue jeans, with a white bandana over his face. He revealed a black pistol in both incidents.
