If you are looking for a constant companion, look no further than Fritz. Fritz is five months old, very playful, does well with other cats and loves feather wands and laser pointers. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and microchipped. I've personally interacted with this dog on a number of occasions and can't speak enough to how wonderful he is. He is so lovable, gentle and loyal. If I had the space and the funds to take care of him, I would. He deserves a good family and a good family deserves him.   more ›

Patch Pets: Meet Jasper

This guy needs a home to enjoy his senior years.

Jasper is one of the older dogs at Animal Rescue League in Pittsburgh in need of a home where he can enjoy his senior years. He was surrendered, but the shelter doesn't have much background information on him. He does appear to be house-trained and he walks nicely on leash. Jasper is almost 8 years old and therefore is a calmer, more settled dog. He also doesn't need the same level of exercise as our younger dogs, which may be a plus for some people. If you appreciate the qualities of an older dog, stop by and meet Jasper. For inquiries about him, you can contact Sue at adoptadog.pgh@gmail.com. Jasper's adoption fee is $55. Patch Pets: Meet Maggie

Maggie is extremely sweet, enjoys her chew toys and seems to like other dogs. Adopt her today at the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh!

This pretty 3-year-old girl is Maggie. Her owners surrendered Maggie to the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh after two years because she didn't quite feel comfortable with the small children in the home. Nevertheless, this pointer-mix is extremely sweet, enjoys her Kong chew toy very much and seems to like other dogs, too. Maggie was also crate trained and knows sit, stay, down and lay. However, she's not fond of felines, so a cat-free home would be ideal. She’s also is a fan of going outside when it rains. Based on her behavior in her previous home, Maggie should live in an adult only home or a home with older children. It does take her time to warm up to strangers, but loves people once she feels safe. We think she'll love curling up …

Patch Pets: Meet Flo

Just look at that face!

Say hello to beautiful Flo! She has the prettiest marking on her face and as you can see from her photos, she's so expressive. She came to the shelter as a stray and we believe that she is a Shepherd and American Pit Bull Terrier mix. Since she's been here, we've gotten to know and love her! It's hard to believe that someone would give her up. She is a wonderful girl who is very affectionate and gentle. She walks wonderfully on a leash and she seems very smart and eager to pelase. She's already learned the "sit" command and she shows signs of being house-trained. She also has a friendly interest in the other dogs at the shelter, so she could possibly go to a home with other animals. Flo would be an easy and loving addition to any family. …

Patch Pets: Meet Bentley

Bentley arrived at the shelter with badly matted fur. She was cleaned up, is velvety soft and needs a loving home.

This small, black kitty—just 1 year and 6 months old—is looking for a home. Bentley makes the Animal Rescue League staff giggle, and prefers to be told how velvety soft and warm she is. She came to the shelter with badly matted fur, so she was sedated and shaved so that her coat will grow back beautiful and shiny, and clean. Bentley is a medium-haired kitty with a beautiful plume tail. She is affectionate and playful, but just a little shy in the shelter when she meets new people. So if you visit Bentley, give her a little time to trust you and you will be rewarded. Any questions, please send an email to catladycam@gmail.com.
