With construction underway on Brookline Boulevard, several local businesses are affected and several parking areas are restricted. Parking is not allowed in front of storefronts in the 500, 600, and 800 blocks of Brookline Boulevard. On-street parking is available in the 700 and 900 blocks, and the parking garage at Mazza Pavilion is open to the public. The parking meters do need to be paid, as ticketing will continue. Businesses in restricted blocks also are "behind the barrier"—a chain link fence separates them from the road. However, these businesses are still open, and most are keeping normal business hours. This affects the following businesses in the 500 and 600 blocks of Brookline Boulevard: It also affects these businesses, in the …

Parking restrictions will be enforced for a few hours on Saturday in the 3000 block of West Liberty Avenue.
Parking restrictions will be enforced on Saturdays through the winter at lots near one West Liberty Avenue Business. Progressive Home Federal Savings & Loan, located at 3029 West Liberty Avenue, owns two parking areas near the business. Dormont police Sgt. However, Progressive is now open on Saturday mornings and Burke said parking restrictions there will now be enforced while the business is open on Saturday. According to the Progressive Home Federal Savings & Loan website, the Dormont office will be open Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon, through April 30. A celebrity event Friday night at Dormont's Hollywood Theater is exciting for the borough, but it caused a few parking headaches on Friday morning. With a production crew from "One Shot" in Dormont today, chances are good you might have taken a peek at the set.
Did a little piece of Hollywood come through your neighborhood today? If you live near Peermont or Pinehurst avenues in Dormont, chances are that it did. A crew from Paramount Pictures is in the area today and tomorrow filming scenes for the movie "One Shot," starring Tom Cruise. Although I'm told Tom isn't going to be on the scene, it's still exciting to see the Paramount trucks roll up on Peermont and unload props and equipment. As a reminder, parking is restricted in the area until 10 p.m. Friday. Details here. If you took photos, talked to the crew or just took a peek at the set, share your experience in the comments section!

It’ll be exciting to look down Peermont Avenue this week and see a film production crew, but a few parking restrictions are in place during the filming. Parking restrictions will last from 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) through 10 p.m. Friday. There will be no parking on Pinehurst Avenue from Biltmore to Peermont, and no parking on either side of Peermont from West Liberty Avenue to Latonia Avenue. Scenes for the movie “One Shot,” featuring Tom Cruise, will be shot in Dormont this week. “There’s adequate parking in the area in the various lots and on the street,” said Dormont police Chief Rich Dwyer. “People should be okay, but we’ve eased the tagging restrictions in those areas.” Dwyer said during the restriction period, officers will be more …
