Local Veteran's Memorial Dedicated Sunday

A Patch blogger attended the dedication of the Mt. Lebanon Veteran's Memorial on Sunday.

The Mt. Lebanon Veteran's Memorial was dedicated Sunday evening, in one of the first ceremonies of the weekend that remembers the true meaning of Memorial Day. Patch blogger Dana Vento attended the ceremony, and recorded the events of the ceremony in photos. If you have any of your own photos of this or other local ceremonies, please share them with Patch readers by uploading them here. Memorial Day is a time to remember veterans who have sacrificed for our country. Who will you remember today? Who would you like to thank for their service?

Memorial Day Images From Brookline And Dormont

It's not really a day about mattress sales.

Hundreds of people turned out under bright skies to watch the marching bands, the firefighters, the police, local officials, clubs and veterans as they paraded from the cannon memorial in Brookline to the Mount Lebanon Cemetery. Thanks, Cassie: Mainly just a point and shoot Sony Cybershot. I think the fact that its a 25mm wide angle lens helps. I also tried to use my wife's Nikon D70 with a fisheye, but I'm not very skilled with that.   more ›
