KO Band Christmas Tree Sale, Now in Dormont Park

Need a Christmas tree? The Keystone Oaks Christmas tree sale is happening now.

If you're looking for that perfect Christmas tree to bring holiday cheer to your home, Keystone Oaks Band is ready to help. The Keystone Oaks Marching Band's annual Christmas tree sale is happening now, at the tennis and basketball courts in the Dormont Pool parking lot. Scotch Pine, Balsam, Spruce and Frasier Furs are available for prices ranging from $25 to $65, and Christmas wreaths are $20. New this year, table-top Christmas trees also are available. The sale is open on weekdays from 4 to 9 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will help fund the marching band's yearly band trip. KO Marching Band Fesitval Saturday

The marching band will host the festival at Dormont Memorial Stadium.

There will be music in the air this Saturday as the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagle Marching Band hosts a Festival of Bands. The festival, sponsored by the Keystone Oaks band and Keystone Oaks Parent Society, will be held at Dormont Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. The event is a fundraiser for KOPS, and proceeds will benefit the band students. In addition to great music by local high school marching bands, concessions, a silent auction and a bake sale will be available and other items will be sold. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the gate. Free parking is available at the Dormont pool parking lot and at Dormont Elementary School. KO Marching Band Christmas Tree Sale Underway

Tree sale in Dormont Park benefits spring marching band competition.

The tennis courts at Dormont Park have once again been transformed into a forest of Christmas trees and holiday wreaths, courtesy of the Keystone Oaks Marching Band. Despite the temperature drop on Wednesday night, a steady stream of customers visited the tree sale. “This is an old tradition,” said Sean Henke, the chairperson for the tree sale. “It’s been going on for a real long time. We’re doing really well this year.” The sale started Nov. 28 and will continue until all 1,000 trees are sold. Sean Henke, chairperson for the tree sale, said about 100 trees were sold and they plan to sell the rest by mid-December. Prices range from $25 to $60 for a tree.
