Buy-one, get-one deals at South and North Park ice rinks for Valentine's Day.
What's more romantic than a skate with your sweetie? Just a short drive from Dormont and Brookline, these ice rinks are offering Valentine's Day specials. The Allegheny County Parks Department will host "sweetheart skates" for couples of all ages at the North Park and South Park ice rinks from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14. Couples may purchase one admission at regular price and receive a second admission free of charge. Each couple will also receive a carnation (while supplies last). Admission to the Allegheny County ice rinks is $5 per person aged 18 to 59, $3 per person aged 17 and younger and $3 per person aged 60 and older. The Allegheny County Parks Department has announced that the South Park and North Park ice rinks will open for the 2011-12 ice skating season on Thursday, Nov. 10, weather and conditions permitting. The skating season will run through mid-March 2012. The ice rinks offer gift certificates, and the rinks are available to rent for special occasions.
