Fans joined the Friends of Hollywood Theater volunteers and theater staff members Friday in celebrating the second anniversary of Dormont’s landmark theater.
Some people wear their passions metaphorically on their sleeves—Steven Worek tattooed his right onto his arm. Worek was one of dozens of fans in attendance Friday at Dormont’s Hollywood Theater for a celebration of the theater’s second year in business. His tattoo, a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" symbol with the words "The Hollywood Theater" underneath, represents what he loves about Dormont's landmark theater. “This is really a part of something in my life that has changed my life, if that makes any sense,” he said. Worek, who lives in the North Hills, said he started coming to the Hollywood because he’s a fan of “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” which the Hollywood used to show twice a month. He guessed he’s seen the show at the Hollywood about…

The 2002 comedy "Bubba Ho-Tep" is among the movies featured on the Hollywood's marquee this weekend.

The publication featured five theaters across the nation that need help to "survive the celluloid apocalypse."
The Moveable Fest website has featured Dormont's Hollywood Theater as one of several across the nation that need help "to survive the celluloid apocalypse." The feature comes at a good time. With just 19 days left in the theater's Indiegogo campaign, Hollywood volunteers and patrons have been advocating heavily on social media for donations. According to Hollywood Theater representatives, the theater is in no immediate danger of closing, even if the Indiegogo goal is not met. The theater will continue to provide normal scheduling, and will continue to explore other funding options. However, because the theater does not have a digital projector, it is now unable to show many films that are only available in digital format. That includes "…
