Pittsburgh Zone 6 crime update, April 15 to April 21.
Two cases of apparent vandalism were reported in Brookline on April 18. A man told police someone damaged a keypad on the garage of his home in the 700 block of Fordham Avenue between 7:30 p.m. on April 17 and 7 a.m. on April 18. Also on April 18, graffiti was spray painted on a building in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard just after 4 a.m. Police are investigating the incidents. Those with information can contact the Pittsburgh Police Department. Dormont police blotter, Aug. 17 to Aug. 24.
Three teens were arrested and four more were issued warnings for spray painting graffiti on the walls of the Dormont Street Department Building on Tennessee Avenue. Dormont police responded to a report of teens spray painting the building just after 8 p.m. on Aug. 22. 8:02 p.m. According to the police report, officers could smell burnt marijuana at the scene, and found the group of teens behind the building. A marijuana cigarette was found near the group. Two teens were arrested, issued disorderly conduct citations and released to the custody of their parents. Brookline Police Blotter, June 25 to June 30.
Several cases of criminal mischief were reported in Brookline at the end of June, and police have the description of the suspect in at least one of those incidents. A man told Pittsburgh police that a solar light in the yard of his home in the 2700 block of Queensboro Avenue was damaged by an unknown man on June 28 around 4:45 a.m. The suspect is described as a white man, 6’2”, who was wearing a bandana and driving a brown, older model Ford LTD. Two incidents of vandalism were reported between the 600 and 700 blocks of Brookline Boulevard on June 26. Brookline police blotter, June 18 to June 24.
Broken windshields, and graffiti on cars and homes were reported in Brookline last week and through the weekend. Overnight on June 20, three cars—all parked in the 2400 block of Starkamp Street—sustained broken windshields and other damage. Another vehicle, this one parked in the 900 block of Brookline Boulevard, was damaged on June 22 around 3 a.m. Two reports of graffiti were made. Between 9 p.m. on June 18 and 4 p.m. on June 19, the garage of a home in the 2800 block of Midland Avenue was spray painted.
