This week's local restaurant spotlight is the Getaway Cafe, located on Sussex Avenue in Baldwin Township. Although this restaurant technically is in Baldwin, it sits on the border of Brookline and is a local favorite. Getaway offers a full menu of sandwiches and dinner entres, and has eat-in and take-out options. The restaurant also has a full-service bar, gift certificates are available and they offer a rewards program. Getaway participated in the 2012 Taste of Brookline event. Two fundraisers today will help Brookline Regional Catholic students.
Eighth-grade students at Brookline Regional Catholic are holding a fundraiser today, and there are two ways to participate. A car wash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and if you dine at Getaway Cafe between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., 20 percent of the food portion of your check will be donated to the eight grade class. The fundraiser at Getaway Cafe is for May 20 only. Customers should mention the fundraiser to servers. Gift certificates, coupons or other offers can't be used with the fundraiser.
