In today's social media age, Facebook can be one of the best ways to find out when these shops have sales, specials and events. But PennDOT’s newly launched Facebook page gives Pennsylvanians more ways to interact with the agency, and find valuable transportation news and tips that could ease a potentially frustrating commute. The new PennDOT Facebook page features: In addition to the main PennDOTNews Twitter feed, the department also maintains eight regional Twitter accounts allowing followers to get updated traffic alerts and local PennDOT news. The Keystone Oaks School Board held a meeting Monday to discuss what the district could do to better communication with residents.
Audience members aren’t normally allowed to speak out of turn at public meetings, but the Keystone Oaks School Board encouraged that interaction in a communications committee meeting Monday night. The open forum meeting was proposed earlier this year to give residents from Dormont, Green Tree and Castle Shannon the opportunity to talk with school board members about improving communication between the district and the community. Much of the conversation focused on the use of Facebook. Although some groups have Keystone Oaks-based Facebook pages, such as Keystone Oaks High School Alumni, the district itself does not currently use the social networking site. An Adams Township man who pretended to be two different surfers from Florida is charged with using Facebook to entice young girls to send him explicit photos and arrange meetings for sex, state Attorney General Linda Kelly said today. William R. Ainsworth, 53, of Raupp Lane, is charged with 68 felony counts, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, criminal attempted unlawful contact with a minor, criminal solicitation to commit unlawful contact with a minor, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility.
