Brookline Woman Charged in Whitehall AutoZone Theft

A Brookline resident is accused of stealing money and merchandise from the store where she worked.

A Brookline woman is accused of stealing money and merchandise from the AutoZone on Route 51 in Whitehall Borough, where she was an employee. Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said Danielle Hibbs, 36, of Brookline, was charged with retail theft after the store's loss prevention officer reported last week that Hibbs, an employee of the store, was caught taking money from the store's register and stealing merchandise. The approximate value of the cash and merchandise taken was $87. The theft occurred across numerous incidents during an unspecified period of time, but "it came to a head" on Thursday, Dolfi said. ROAD RAGE UPDATE: Victims Did Not Want to Participate in Prosecution

The district attorney's office requested that the charges be withdrawn.

The withdrawal of several charges against a woman whom police say assaulted three people in a November road rage incident in Baldwin Township has raised some eyebrows. While it is typical for district magistrates to grant the withdrawal of charges based on a lack of evidence, it also often occurs that the victims and/or witnesses of crimes do not wish to participate in the accused's prosecution. Such was the case of Amanda Marie Petrelli, whom a Baldwin Township police officer drew his gun at on Nov. 13 after a traffic accident involving the Dormont Borough woman escalated into violence. Charges Dropped Against Dormont Woman in Road Rage Case

Amanda Marie Petrelli, whom Baldwin Township police say punched two other women in the face and ran her vehicle into a pedestrian in a November road-rage incident, will not face charges for those allegations, district Magistrate David J. Barton decided on Tuesday. Barton withdrew Petrelli's charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
