Cast members and Steelers were among those who attended a fundraiser and film event at Dormont's Hollywood Theater on Friday.

"We're certainly not complaining that it did. It's definitely great for the theater, but it's supporting a good cause, too. We couldn't have asked for this. It's wonderful." The movie was co-produced by Paula Gregg and Susan Burig, both Pittsburgh natives, who chose Hollywood …

A celebrity event Friday night at Dormont's Hollywood Theater is exciting for the borough, but it caused a few parking headaches on Friday morning. Parking meters are bagged on Potomac Avenue between Sugar Cafe and Potomac Bakery. The spaces are reserved for a celebrity event and showing of the film "Christmas in Compton" at Hollywood Theater on Friday night. Parking will be allowed at the meters until 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16. The spaces are reserved after 3 p.m., and violaters will be towed. Dormont police Sgt. A movie event with special guests including Steelers, Penguins, actors and more will benefit the Red Cross and Hurricane Sandy victims.
A star-studded evening at Dormont’s Hollywood Theater will raise money for the Red Cross, and for victims of Hurricane Sandy who still are recovering from the storm. A special showing of the independent film “Christmas in Compton,” which opened in theaters last week, will be held at 6 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 16. “Christmas in Compton,” a comedy co-produced by Pittsburgh natives Paula Gregg and Susan Burig, is about a father-son duo and their community fighting to save their Christmas tree lot after a bad business deal. The movie stars Keith David as the father, Eric Roberts as a sleazy music executive, and Omar Gooding as the son. In a press release issued earlier this month, Gregg and Burig said they chose Hollywood Theater for this event …
