Dan Kamin, Charlie Chaplin and 'Close Encounters' in Dormont
A look at Hollywood Theater's weekend marquee.
Patrons to Dormont's Hollywood Theater might have an other-worldly experience this weekend. Steven Spielberg's 1977 film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," runs Friday through Sunday. Also playing this weekend is "Brooklyn Castle," Katie Dellamaggiore's 2012 film about the challenges facing a public school's award-winning chess team. The "silent" hit of the weekend is Sunday afternoon's showing of three Charlie Chaplin films. The Silent Film Series will be hosted by Chaplin scholar and performer Dan Kamin.
