Pittsburgh Zone 6 crime update, April 15 to April 21.
Two cases of apparent vandalism were reported in Brookline on April 18. A man told police someone damaged a keypad on the garage of his home in the 700 block of Fordham Avenue between 7:30 p.m. on April 17 and 7 a.m. on April 18. Also on April 18, graffiti was spray painted on a building in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard just after 4 a.m. Police are investigating the incidents. Dormont police arrested a man who allegedly broke into a Dormont home and assaulted the resident.
UPDATE: Dormont police arrested Robert Heuckeroth, 44, address unknown, on April 5 at 3:30 a.m. at a home on Tennessee Avenue. Heuckeroth was arrested on warrants issued by Dormont Police, and by the Allegheny County Sheriff's Department. Charges are pending. - - - - - Originally published March 4, 2013: Dormont police are searching for a man they say broke into a Tennessee Avenue home and assaulted the resident, whom he knew. Police have charged Robert Heuckeroth, 44, address unknown with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass and recklessly endangering another person. Pittsburgh police arrested Darryl Anderson on Brookline Boulevard on Thursday.
The search for a Brookline man wanted for burglary came to an end on Thursday morning. Pittsburgh police credit alert residents for spotting Darryl Anderson, 52, of Brookline, and calling police to report where he was. The police issued a warrant for Anderson's arrest on Wednesday. Pittsburgh police have issued arrest warrants for a Dormont man and a Beechview man in connection with a robbery in the Banksville area. Police are looking for Jason Taylor, who they believe could be staying with a friend in the Beechview area. Taylor is 30 years old. He is described as a white man, 5'11" and 180 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. Police also are looking for William Flaherty, 35, of Dormont. Flaherty is described as a white man, 5'8" and 165 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Brookline, Beechview Crime Blotter, Sept. 24 to Sept. 30.
Pittsburgh police are investigating after a Brookline resident found an intruder inside his Pioneer Avenue home. Around 10 p.m. on Sept. 24, a homeowner in the 1700 block of Pioneer Avenue found a man he didn’t know inside his home. According to the police report, the homeowner confronted the intruder, who then ran into a wooded area near the home. Police said there were no signs of forced entry, and it is not known how the intruder entered the home. The suspect is described as a white male, about 180lbs with a medium build, brown short hair and scruffy facial hair. The suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. A Dormont home undergoing renovations was the target of a burglary last week. The owner of a home in the 1400 block of Grandin Avenue told Dormont police he arrived at the home on Sept. 16 to find the front door unlocked. According to the police report, several items were missing, including a Pioneer Receiver and a Sony CD player. No arrests have been made at this time. A man told Pittsburgh police he was walking near the intersection of Berkshire and Queensboro avenues in Brookline on Aug. 22 around 10 a.m. when two men driving a red pickup truck grabbed prescription medication out of his hand and fled.
