BB Gun Used in Three Fallowfield Ave. Vandalism Acts

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, March 18 to March 24.

A BB gun was used in three different cases of criminal mischief, all in the 1800 block of Fallowfield Avenue in Beechview, between March 23 and March 24. The first instance occurred between 9 p.m. on March 23 and 9 a.m. on March 24, when a BB gun was used to shoot the window and the side of a vehicle parked on the street. Two more cases followed. The window of a home in the same block was shot with a BB gun on March 24 between 2 a.m. and 10:05 a.m, and damage to a second vehicle in that block—a broken window—was reported at 8:45 a.m. Those with information can contact Pittsburgh Police. Car Window Broken, Theft in Brookline

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, Feb. 25 to March 3.

Within a day of each other, two criminal incidents involving damage or theft from a vehicle were reported in Brookline. On Feb. 27 at 3:30 p.m., the window of a vehicle was reportedly broken and money stolen from inside. The vehicle was parked in the 700 block of Norwich Avenue at the time of the incident. In a separate incident, it was reported that the window of a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Brookline Boulevard was broken between 11 p.m. on Feb. 27 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 28.  Those with information are asked to contact Pittsburgh Police, Zone 6 detectives. Four Arrested for Heroin Possession in Banksville

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, Feb. 18 to Feb. 24.

Pittsburgh police arrested four people, including one juvenile, in Banksville last week for possession of heroin. The arrests were made Feb. 19 in the 2800 block of Banksville Road. Narcotics detectives arrested Anthony Dorsey of the Hill District, Erin Proctor of Baldwin, and a juvenile male, who each were charged with possession with the intent to deliver. According to the police report, a Wilkinsburg man also was arrested and charged, but the court docket for those charges was not available as of Tuesday morning. As for the heroin thing, that's also, unfortunately, a problem everywhere. It still blows my mind that it's cheaper than marijuana these days--that's why it's become such an epidemic. How is a drug that takes so much time and effort to obtain, refine, and process cheaper than a plant people can grow in their basement with sun lamps??   more ›

Windshields Broken on Fernhill Ave.

Two cars on Fernhill Drive in Brookline were damaged on July 7. One car was parked in the 400 block of Fernhill, and the other in the 600 block. Damage to both vehicles occurred on July 7, between midnight and 9:30 a.m. Nothing was reported stolen. Those with information should contact Pittsburgh Police Zone 6 at 412-937-3051. Armed Robbery Attempted in Brookline

An armed robbery was attempted in Brookline earlier this month. According to the police report, the victims were walking near Woodbourne Avenue and Verbena Way on June 6 around 7:30 p.m. when a man tried to rob them at gunpoint. The suspect is described as a black man, between 16 and 20 years old, with a dark complexion, thin build, and hair in cornrows. The man was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Smash-And-Grab Robberies in Brookline

Several Brookline vehicles were the targets of smash-and-grab robberies between May 18 and 19. The window of a car in the 600 block of Larose Street was smashed and a cell phone was stolen between 11:30 p.m. on May 18 and 3:30 a.m. on May 19. During the same time period, another window was smashed and a cell phone stolen, this time from a car parked in the 1200 block of Brookline Boulevard. The last reported incident occurred in the 1200 block of Wareman Avenue between 4 and 5:50 a.m., when money was stolen from a car after a window was broken. Car Stereos Stolen in Brookline, Beechview

Several items, including two stereo systems, were stolen from vehicles in Brookline and Beechview. Six incidents were reported between May 1 and May 5. Five of the incidents occurred between the evening of May 1 and early morning of May 2. During that time, a GPS unit was stolen from a car parked in the 1500 block of Alverado Avenue in Beechview. Money, a cell phone and a stereo system were stolen from cars in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Belasco Avenue in Beechview. The vehicles reportedly had been left unlocked. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Woodbourne Avenue in Brookline on May 1 around midnight. Thefts in Brookline, Beechview

Pittsburgh police are investigating incidents of theft and stolen vehicles that were reported in Brookline and Beechview last week. Money was stolen from a home in the 2400 block of Pioneer Avenue in Brookline on April 25, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Also on April 25, between 5 and 6:30 p.m., someone stole a backpack and laptop near the intersection of Fitch Way and Wedgemere Street in Brookline. In Beechview, two vehicles were stolen without the keys.
