Hollywood Theater will continue to hold "Breakfast and a Movie" events, and the Sugar Cafe owner will continue providing the meal.
It wasn't long after Dormont's Hollywood Theater partnered with Sugar Cafe for "Breakfast and a Movie" events that the popular Dormont cafe unexpectedly closed its doors. This led to questions on the Facebook pages of both organizations about whether the new event would continue. The answer, according to Friends of Hollywood Theater member Margaret Jackson, is yes. In an email to Dormont-Brookline Patch, Jackson said Kelly James, owner of Sugar Cafe, plans to continue providing breakfast for the event through this year. "Kelly James will continue to cater the event through 2013," Jackson wrote. "The event [last week] was wonderful, same quality of goodies and coffee." The next Breakfast and a Movie is "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) on Feb. 17…

The movie will be the theater's next event for the Breakfast and a Movie program, a new item on the theater's schedule, and one that has taken off. Friends of Hollywood Theater member Margaret Jackson said she and Heavenly Blumling, who organized the program, wanted to come up with a new way for local businesses to work together. Now preparing for the fourth Breakfast and a Movie, they are confident they've found a hit, so to speak. “We were just looking for an idea that would be nice for the community and nice for the theater, and also easy to do,” Jackson said. “I knew that the Oaks [Theater in Oakmont] was doing …
