Open since 2007 and owned by husband and wife duo Franco and Lisa, Mateo's is known for its homemade meatballs and zucchini pancakes. All recipes at Mateo's are family-inspired and carry a taste of Southern Italy. Lisa says that her loyal customers make the community great, and she has been a resident of Brookline her entire life.

Our family have been frequenting Mateo's for over 2 years and look forward to each visit. Not only is the food tremendous, Franco and Lisa are the most gracious hosts and make the restaurant a warm and inviting place. My wife Debi loves the Eggplant Parmiagana, My daughter RAchel, the Chicken Parm, and I'm a Pasta and meatball guy. Franco's homemade sauce is truly something you have to try - I can't explain just how good it is.
