Patch Pets: Meet Zelda

This little guy needs a new home.

This sweet three-year-old pit mix came to the shelter as a stray. Zelda is a real people dog and always wants attention.

At 45 pounds, she doesn’t think she’s to big to sit on laps and can sometimes be found sitting on the lap of one of the adoption counselors. She looks like she has recently had puppies but her mom days are over. She knows some commands and it’s a mystery why she wound up on the streets with no one looking for her. She deserves to be the queen of the household.

Zelda is rather small for her breed and is a beautiful combination of cream and white with light eyes. She will make a wonderful loyal companion. If you'd like to inquire about this pet, please email adoptions@animalrescue.org or come to the Animal Rescue League at 6620 Hamilton Ave., in East Liberty,412-661-6452.

Please note that Zelda doesn’t always behave in a welcoming manner to those who approach her cage at the shelter, so you’ll want to be sure to ask to meet her out of the kennel. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday through Monday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We continue to have a record number of already spayed or neutered cats and kittens available for adoption and are offering two kittens for an $80 adoption fee. There are bunnies and lots of ferrets, too!
