Bar Crawl Money Buys Community Flowers

Money raised at the Brookline bar crawl was used for improvements to Cannon Park.

Volunteers with were busy Monday evening working on their second project for the community.

The first was the Brookline bar tour on Friday, which about 120 people attended, and which the volunteers said was highly successful.

Their second project is a product of the first—about a third of the $970 raised by the bar crawl was used to buy flowers and other planting materials to improve the garden space at Cannon Park.

The group plans to help the VFW maintain the park throughout the season.

With the remaining money from the bar crawl, the group plans to buy fertilizer to keep the gardens fresh.

The next Energize Brookline project is Sunday morning. Volunteers are invited to meet at at 11 a.m. for a community cleanup to prepare for the South Hills Memorial Day Parade on Monday.
