Win a Beetle from Dormont VFD!

There's still time to buy a raffle ticket to win a Volkswagen Beetle.

There are still a few days left to buy a ticket for biggest raffle of the year.

The fire department is raffling off a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Special Edition Turbo. It's currently parked in the lot of Dormont Village Plaza on West Liberty Avenue, and VFD members are manning the tent and selling tickets daily.

Deputy Chief Jeff Arnold said raffle sales were slow at first, but that they've picked up now that the clock is winding down.

Tickets are just $2 each, and a drawing to choose the winner will be July 4 in , right after the fireworks.

Proceeds from ticket sales help the fire department pay for the things they need to keep residents—and themselves—safe: new safety gear, equipment, insurance and training courses.

Members of the fire department will be selling tickets in the Dormont Village parking lot from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
