Playoff Loss Ends Best-Ever Season of KO Baseball

The Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles baseball team lost to Upper Moreland in a PIAA playoff game Tuesday.

The most winning season in Keystone Oaks baseball history came to an end Tuesday with a loss in the PIAA state semi finals.

The Golden Eagles lost 3-1 to Upper Moreland, a school district from suburban Philadelphia.

Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles had the best season in the 48-year history of the district's baseball program.

The team finished the season 20-6, and according to the school district's website, set a school record for wins and advanced further in the postseason than any KO baseball team before it.

The season included a defeat of South Park—an undefeated team before facing KO in the state playoffs—and pitcher Jared Skolnicki's first career no-hitter.

Coach Scott Crimone told Dormont-Brookline Patch in May that he largely credits a talented group of senior players for their hard work over the past four years, and said the team has worked to be the best that has ever worn they Keystone Oaks jersey.
