FontanaFest! - This Saturday
If you have never attended FontanaFest before, then what are you waiting for? Join me this Saturday, September 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Side’s Riverfront Park (bottom of 18th Street at the river) for the 9th Annual event!
Best of all, it’s FREE!
I began this event in 2005 as a way to celebrate our rivers and riverfront parks and to highlight the many activities that children and families can do on and near the rivers, and in our region, as a family. Our attendance over the past few years has exceeded 1,000 people, and we expect even more this September to enjoy activities on the river, children’s activities, games, crafts, food, drink, and fun.

A limited number of free boat rides will be available compliments of Pittsburgh Water Limo and guests may also take a canoe or kayak out on the Monongahela thanks to the PA Fish & Boat Commission. Kids can also play on a giant moonbounce and slide, compete in an obstacle course or ride a pony (between 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.). That is in addition to the numerous organizations that will be on hand providing activities for children and families along with important educational information. Come out and see what these wonderful groups have to offer.
