World of Dr. Seuss Comes to Myrtle

To celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday, 'Seussical' cast members visited Myrtle Elementary last week.

It was easy for students to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday last week—the world of Dr. Seuss already had come to the high school.

Cast members of “Seussical,” this year’s high school musical, visited last week in costume to read Dr. Seuss’s stories to students there.

“They loved the costumes, and everyone really enjoyed being there,” said sophomore Molly Young, who plays Mayzie La Bird. “We read to them as the characters and we’re playing these characters times a thousand, so everything’s really big and bold.”

Young said she hoped the elementary students enjoyed meeting the characters enough that they’ll want to attend “Seussical” at the end of March.
