Here are 14 college scholarships available to Keystone Oaks students.

  • Keystone Oaks Education Association Future Teacher Scholarship Award offers scholarship money to any Keystone Oaks graduating senior who will major in education. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: April 2 before 3:00 pm.
  • Central Scholarship and Loan Referral Service Scholarships are available to Jewish students. Must demonstrate financial need. Applications are available at http://www.centralscholarship.org. Please contact Alayne Lowenberger with questions at 412-422-5627. Deadline: Feb. 7. 
  • Owen M. Katz High School Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who wishes to pursue a career in the metals or materials field in a related college program. Applications can be found at www.asmpittsburgh.org. Deadline: Jan. 31.
  • National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Student must demonstrate high academic achievement, financial need, and athletic ability at the varsity level. An essay is also required. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline: Jan. 31.
  • Blackwood Music Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to high school students intending to pursue a career in instrumental music performance. Application package can be found at www.blackwoodmusic.org. Deadline: Feb. 1.
  • University of Michigan – Geisinger Scholarship Students must be interested in attending the University of Michigan, College of Engineering. The scholarship will be awarded to a non-Michigan resident student. This is a $20,000 per year annual scholarship. An engineering major must be declared and a 3.0 GPA must be maintained. Questions can be directed to coe.scholarships@umich.edu. Deadline: Jan. 13.
  • NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award Qualified candidates must be operating a small business. Visit www.nfib.com/yea for more information.
  • B. Davis Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors. The essay topic is: Discuss, in less than 1,000 words, how your education has contributed to who you are today, or how it will affect who you will become.   • Masonic Scholarships Grant, loan, and scholarship opportunities primarily for Masons, their siblings, children, grandchildren, and members of the Masonic-related youth groups are available. A 2012 scholarship resource guide is available in the guidance office. An online version and applications can be found at www.pmyf.org.
  • Edgar Snyder & Associates – “Words to be Heard” Scholarship First-place winner will receive $5,000, second-place will receive $2,500, and three runner-ups will receive $1,000 each. Students must submit a presentation (video/PowerPoint) that discourages underage drinking and driving or texting while driving. It can also highlight the dangers of drinking and driving and texting while driving.  Visit www.edgarsnyder.com to download an application. Deadline: March 30.
  • Thiel College – Full Tuition Presidential Scholarship Competition Students that meet the minimum scholarship requirements of a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1100 or an ACT composite score of 24 and a 3.7 cumulative GPA are encouraged to apply. An essay and an interview are required. Applications can be found at www.thiel.edu.  Deadline: Jan. 15.
  • Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers Eligible students must be children of PACB member institutions’ employees. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: Feb. 17.
  • Holy Cross Ladies Society Philanthropy Award Scholarship The purpose of this $1,000 award is to assist and recognize a personal philanthropic experience that a student has been actively involved with during their high school career. Eligible students must plan to pursue a 4 year degree, have a 2.5 GPA, and be available for an interview with the committee. Applications and a list of application requirements are in the guidance office. Deadline: March 1.
