Rogers Wins PIAA Appeal

Ricky Rogers, a former Keystone Oaks football player, is eligible to play at Gateway High School this year.

A former football player has won an appeal with the PIAA and is now eligible to play football at Gateway High School this year, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Earlier this year, the WPIAL had ruled Ricky Rogers, a junior receiver, not eligible to play for Gateway this season, saying he had made the transfer for athletic reasons. Rogers appealed to the PIAA, and the ruling was overturned on Thursday.

The PIAA also overturned similar rulings for four other high school athletes. Rogers has transferred schools three times in two years.
