Pittsburgh Schools Magnet Lottery Deadline Approaching

Students who want to participate in the Magnet Lottery must do so by the end of the week.

All current Pittsburgh Public Schools students wishing to participate in the 2012-13 Magnet Lottery must submit their application no later than Friday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m.

The application deadline for Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12 was Oct. 21. The Magnet Lottery will be held Dec. 21. After the Magnet Lottery, all current Pittsburgh Public Schools students who wish to apply to a district magnet school or program must do so by March 16, 2012.

To download application materials, families may visit the District’s website at www.pps.k12.pa.us/magnet or www.pps.k12.pa.us and click on “Magnet Programs” under the “Parentheading on the District’s homepage. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be mailed or dropped off in person between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. or between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. at 341 South Bellfield Avenue, Room 453A, Pittsburgh Pa., 15213.
