Pittsburgh Public Schools Celebrates Black History Month

Dance, poetry, lectures and concerts will highlight the programs in various Pittsburgh schools.

Pittsburgh Public Schools is celebrating the achievements of African-Americans throughout the month of February. 

Through dance, poetry, lectures, concerts and displays, students will learn about heritage and history, ranging from appearances by Olympic swimmer Cullen Jones to performances by African drum and dance ensembles.

Events at Brookline Elementary, Pittsburgh South Hills Middle School and Brashear High School are included.
