Partners In Learning Talk Food Allergies, Cyber Bullying at KO

Partners in Learning will hold several programs at Keystone Oaks throughout the 2013-14 school year.

Food allergies, cyber bullying, tests—just three of many topics that can be challenging for students to handle, and that often leave parents seeking more information, too.

Keystone Oaks School District will continue its Partners in Learning series in the 2013-14 school year, to help parents better understand and help their children through multiple issues.

The 2013-14 Partners in Learning Series schedule is as follows:

Sept. 14: Resources for Parents
Speakers: Theresa Lydon and Susan Wuenstel
Location: Green Tree Borough Building, 10 a.m.

Oct. 16: Procedural Safeguards
Speaker: The PEAL Center
Location: Myrtle Avenue Elementary School library, 7 to 9 p.m.

Oct. 22: Superintendent Chat
Speaker: KOSD Superintendent, Dr. William Stropkaj
Location: Keystone Oaks High School library, 9 to 10 a.m.

Nov. 19: Safety
Speaker: Sarah O'Donald, Three Rivers Council on Independent Living
Location: Keystone Oaks High School library, 7 to 9 p.m.

Jan. 29, 2014: Student Assistance Program
Speaker: Chartiers Mental Health
Location: Keystone Oaks Middle School library, 7 to 9 p.m.

Feb. 19, 2014: Grief and Trauma
Speaker: Nahir Gordon and Jessica Maher, Wesley Spectrum Services
Location: Fred L. Aiken Elementary School library, 7 to 9 p.m.

March 5, 2014: State Assessments/Standardized Testing

April 24, 2014: Food Allergies
Speakers: Elizabeth Brandy and Judy Fritz, KOSD School Nurses

May 21: Cyberbullying
Speaker: Mt. Lebanon Police Department
Location: Keystone Oaks Middle School library, 7 to 9 p.m.
