Opening Night: KO Presents 'The Drowsy Chaperone'

The Keystone Oaks High School musical begins today, March 21, and runs through Saturday.

It's opening night for this year's Keystone Oaks High School musical, and this year, district officials say, the show will be a unique treat for audiences.

"The Drowsy Chaperone," a parody of 1920s musical comedy, opens tonight at Keystone Oaks High School.

Choosing a lesser-known musical might come as a surprise, director Shane Hallam said in a statement released this week, especially after the classics students have taken on in past years.

"We’ve done many of the classics and they’ve all been a lot of fun to perform," said Hallam. "But it’s time to spread our wings a bit and try something that’s more modern and contemporary."

In past years, Keystone Oaks has performed "Anything Goes," "Barnum," "Brigadoon," "Footloose" and last year performed the colorful hit "Seussical."
