No Tax Increase in Keystone Oaks Budget

The Keystone Oaks School Board adopted the 2012-13 budget Thursday.

There will be no tax increase for residents this year.

The Keystone Oaks School Board adopted a budget during Thursday's meeting that does not include a tax increase for district residents.

The board adopted an operating budget of $35,383,995 by a 6-3 vote. Board members Joe Finucan, Dan Domalik and Dave Hommrich voted against it.

The board voted 5-4 to keep the real estate tax at 22.03 mills for the 2012-13 school year, the same rate it was during the 2011-12 school year.

Although a tax increase from 22.03 to 22.47 mills was proposed by board member Robert Brownlee, board members Lisa Cancelliere, Raeann Lindsey, Domalik, Hommrich, and Finucan voted against the tax increase.
