KO Girls Compete in Local Soccer Championship

The Keystone Oaks girls' recreational soccer team was a finalist in a tournament held Saturday.

Sixteen local girls recreational soccer teams competed for a champion and finalist slot during a one-day event played Saturday in the Gym.

Games started at 8 a.m. and continued every 19 minutes, until the Tournament Champion and Finalist was determined. The Keystone Oaks Team 1 earned a “finalist” tournament shirt for their effort, but were defeated by Quaker Valley 1 in the final game.

The Lady Eagles Recreational Squad, led by Coach Lexi Tokarski, included team members Alison Hosko, Rachael Evans, Casey Buckholz, Amy Coombs, Kaleigh Smith, Julia Canello, Leeza Tokarski, and Kara Hoffman.

Three teams from Keystone Oaks competed, as well as teams from Allderdice, Bishop Canevin, Carlynton, Brookline/, Thomas Jefferson, Bishop Carrol, East Allegheny, Riverside, McKeesport, West Allegheny, Ellwood City and two teams from Quaker Valley.
