KO Celebrates 'World Read Aloud Day'

Keystone Oaks Elementary Students participated in World Read Aloud Day last week.

Dormont and Myrtle Avenue Elementary Schools celebrated World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) last week, hearing stories from around the globe.

World Read Aloud Day, which the district celebrated in conjunction with the Rukmini Foundation, is a global celebration of reading in which teachers, community members, and students read some of their favorite books aloud.

The goal is to celebrate the power of reading and to raise awareness for the nearly 800,000 million people worldwide who cannot read.
