Golden Eagles Lady Soccer Players 'Pink Out' for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Tonight's Lady Eagles soccer Senior Recognition Night will also double as Breast Cancer Awareness Night; and other varsity teams are going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, too.

The Golden Eagles' uniforms might be black and gold, but there is lot of pink showing up at in for this month's varsity sports games.

It's all being done to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

On Tuesday, the boys varsity soccer team had a "Pink Out Night" for its match. The varsity football team is doing the same for its Oct. 21 home game.

And at tonight's 7:30 home game against Steel Valley, the Lady Eagles soccer team gets its turn to be "pretty (and tough) in pink." Admission is free to all KO fans.

The girls soccer team is actually kicking it up a notch by wearing pink socks to all home and away games in October. Not only that, but they will be using a pink soccer ball for all games this month to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Though tonight is official Senior Recognition Night—honoring Kelsey Austin, Jessica Fischer, Alison Hosko, Maggie Kemp, Laura Noss, Renee Ratti and Kaisley Soriano—the team is also observing it as Breast Cancer Awareness Night.

At all home games this month, the girls soccer team will donation a portion of its 50/50 raffle to the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund. To raise awareness of breast cancer for participants and spectators, a member of the girls soccer boosters also decorated the stadium fence.
