What's Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day?

Municipal offices and banks among the places closed for the Monday holiday.

Today, Monday, is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day—and that means there are a number of local closings in honor of the day.

Among the places closed on Monday, Jan. 21, for the holiday are:

  • Dormont Municipal Center.
  • The Keystone Oaks and Pittsburgh Public school districts.
  • U.S. post offices on West Liberty Avenue in Dormont and Brookline Boulevard in Brookline (no mail delivery on Monday).
  • Banks: First Commonwealth Bank in Dormont, Community Bank in Brookline, and the PNC Banks in Dormont and Brookline.
  • Port Authority of Allegheny County’s bus, light rail and incline service will operate on regular weekday schedules. The Customer Service phone line will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Downtown Service Center on Smithfield Street will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.
