State Rep. Miller to Hold Open House at New District Office

State Representative Dan Miller, whose district seat was formerly held by Matt Smith, will hold an open house to meet residents.

State Rep. Dan Miller (D-42) will hold an open house at his new district office from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 to meet constituents and talk to them about how his office can best serve their needs.

Miller became the District 42 state representative after a special election in April. Matt Smith, who formerly held that seat, was elected as a state senator for District 37, which includes much of the South Hills area.

"I’m proud to be able to invite constituents of the 42nd Legislative District to this open house and give them a chance to meet our staff and learn more about what we can do for them," Miller said in a prepared statement. "We can offer them help with any state government-related issue and we’re eager to be a helpful resource in our community."

Although Miller does not directly represent Dormont and Brookline, District 42 does include parts of the Keystone Oaks School District, specifically Green Tree. The district also includes the nearby municipalities of Mt. Lebanon, Scott Township and Bethel Park.

The open house will coincide with Mt. Lebanon’s First Friday event and will be held at Miller's district office at 650 Washington Road, Suite 102.
