Allegheny County has compiled a list of special offers from area businesses and some travel destinations to honor those who have served our country.

Allegheny County Veterans Services has compiled a list of special offers and discounts available to veteran in honor of Veterans Day.

Outback Steakhouse is honoring America’s military veterans and those in active duty by offering a free Bloomin’ Onion and a Coca-Cola product Tuesday, Nov. 8 through Friday, Nov. 11. This offer is available to military personnel who have one of the following forms of identifications: U.S Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), DD form 214 Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion and VFW), Photograph in Uniform, Wearing Uniform. Last year, Applebee’s served 1,024,000 free meals to military veterans and active service members. Applebee’s is again offering a free meal to military veterans and active duty service members on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11. There will be seven entrées to choose from. Chili’s is offering all military past and present their choice of one of six meals on Friday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only; beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service. Visit Chili’s website to find participating locations.

Many are offering a free six-inch sub to military veterans on Veterans Day. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Subway is participating.

Krispy Kreme is giving a free doughnut to all active duty personnel and military veterans on Nov.11. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.

At the Spaghetti Warehouse, buy one lasagna or any original recipe spaghetti and get one lasagna or any original recipe spaghetti for 11 cents. Only valid on Veterans Day and veteran must present printed coupon.

Texas Roadhouse restaurants are offering free meals on Veterans Day, from the time the restaurant opens until 4 p.m. Visit the website for information about participating locations.

On Friday, Uno’s is offering a free entrée or individual pizza with a purchase of an entrée or pizza of equal or greater value. Offer good for all veterans and active duty military. Visit the site for locations and more information.

is offering all veterans and active duty military personnel and their immediate family members a free small Slurpee drink between 11 a.m and 7 p.m. on Friday.

T.G.I. Friday’s is offering buy one, get one free Nov. 11-14. At participating locations for anyone with an veteran or current military ID.

McCormick & Schmick’s is celebrating its 13th annual Veterans Appreciation Event on Sunday, Nov. 13, with free lunch or dinner. Veterans will be able to choose a complimentary lunch or dinner entrée. Veterans must provide proof of military service. Be sure to contact your local McCormick & Schmick’s as this is valid at participating restaurants only. Also, space is limited and reservations are highly recommended.

The 10th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, from 5-9 p.m. in all Golden Corral Restaurants nationwide. The free “thank you” dinner is available to any person who has ever served in the U.S. Military. If you are a veteran or currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Monday dinner. Anheuser-Busch Parks, throughout 2011, offers Active Duty Service members of the military and as many as three direct dependents single-day complimentary admission to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place parks by registering on its website or submitting information at the entrance to participating parks. The “Here’s to the Heroes” program is available to any active duty service member, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman.  Eligible parks include: Adventure Island, Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay or Williamsburg), SeaWorld (Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio), Sesame Place, and Water Country USA. Not valid at Discovery Cove and Aquatica. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA is not included as part of this program. Colonial Williamsburg offers free weekend-long admission tickets to active duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans, and their immediate dependents Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 14. The complimentary ticket includes admission to Colonial Williamsburg exhibition sites, art museums, and most daytime programs, as well as free parking and use of the shuttle bus system. To honor America’s service men and women, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced that areas managed by the National Park Service would not charge entrance fees for Veteran’s Day weekend—Nov. 11-13. More than 100 national Parks will be participating in this event

B&Bs for Vets has organized more than 485 participating bed and breakfasts and inns across the United States and Canada to offer veterans a free night’s stay on Thursday, Nov. 10. This offer is available to both active duty military members and veterans with ID, but space is limited. Each inn and B&B has at least one room available for this promotion and reservations must be made directly through the participating inns and B&Bs. For more information, visit B&Bs for Vets.

Big Lots! Stores also are offering a 10-percent discount on purchases Friday to active-duty service members, military retirees and relatives of active-duty personnel.  A valid military ID must be shown to obtain the discount.

Sam’s Club® locations nationwide will distribute 36,000 Hugo® canes free of charge Nov. 9-11 to U.S. military veterans in need of mobility assistance. Limited quantities are available. The Home Depot is offering all active duty personnel, reservists, retired military, veterans and their families a 10-percent discount off their purchases in honor of Veterans Day. The offer is valid on purchases of up to $2,000 for a maximum of $200 and is available at The Home Depot stores, The Home Depot Design Center locations, Yardbirds and EXPO Design Center locations. A year-round, 10-percent discount, up to a $500 for a maximum of $50, is offered at all U.S. stores to all active duty military personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and their immediate families. Customers requesting the discount should present a valid military ID.

Lowes offers an all day, every day 10-percent discount to all military personnel who are active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members, with a valid, government-issued military ID card.

Thousands of car washes around the country are offering U.S. veterans a free car wash on Veterans Day. Find a list at Grace for Veterans, which helped veterans receive 101,537 free Washes on Veterans Day 2010.

Amazon.com is offering a free “Veterans Day Honor” MP3 album download. This downloadable album includes 12 songs as performed by the military bands and ensembles of the U.S. Armed Forces. Visit Amazon on Veteran’s Day to download the album.

Sport Clips - Veterans Day National Cut-a-Thon. Sport Clips is the official haircutter of the VFW and will donate $1 from every haircut during the National Cut-a-Thon to VFW's Operation Uplink, which provides free phone time to active-duty military personnel and hospitalized veterans. Cabelas is offering its employee discount to all veterans, active duty military and reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel on Nov. 11 and 12.  Discounts vary from 5 to 50 percent, depending on the item (excludes guns, boats, trailers and safes).

Build-A-Bear is offering members of the armed forces a 20-percent discount Nov. 1-15 on any one transaction.
