REMINDER: #1 Cochran Meeting Tonight in Dormont

Dormont Council is holding a special meeting today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, to discuss the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan.

Dormont Council will hold a special, public meeting today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, to discuss the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Dormont Municipal Center. The agenda and related documents are attached to this article as a PDF document.

Council plans to discuss the proposed agreement with #1 Cochran, which would include a potential land swap between the company and the borough, as well as the points #1 Cochran would have to meet in order for the borough to approve an agreement.

Council also plans to discuss the creation of a committee to organize a tax increment financing (TIF) district, which was proposed as a way to pay for new parking lots and other construction around the #1 Cochran site. If created, the committee would include representatives from Allegheny County and from the Keystone Oaks School District.
